Hi, Today I noticed that my restricted information was being seen even though I was not logged into my website. I checked the settings and everything looked fine but can not understand why this is suddenly happening? I am currently running WP 3.5.1. Could this be the problem? My website is http://bankreposbahamas.com. When non members access the website they should only be able to see the property listings but can not see who the agent is unless they are a member. Today the membership info is being revealed to all visitors without them having to log in or pay the membership.

Thank-you for your inquiry.

I ran a quick investigation on your site and it appears that your restrictions are working correctly, at least that I was restricted from certain parts of your blog.

Could you please provide a specific example of a post/page that this is happening on?

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for getting back to me. You can go to any of the home listings and see the problem. Below the home listing is a members only area that gives my paid members, when logged in, the contact information for the bank that the listing is associated with. When you are not logged in it should say members only area, click here to join. However now whether you are logged in or not it displays this information. Here’s an example” http://bankreposbahamas.com/listing/eastwood/ go to this listing and below the listing information will have the Insurance Company that is holding this property. In this case it is Colina Imperial. This information should not be displayed to non-members.

I’m can’t seem to figure out how to correct this issue.

Please let me know as soon as you can as I am losing revenue by this information being displayed.

Many thanks,

Kurt

Thanks for the heads up on this thread :-)

I was unable to reproduce this on a clean/test installation of WordPress. If problems persist, please make an attempt to reproduce this yourself on a clean test installation of WordPress running only a default WP theme and only the s2Member plugin. If you’re able to reproduce it there, please submit a Dashboard login privately and we’ll investigate it for you. Please use: s2Member® » Private Contact Form

Hi Guys,

My problem still persists. I’ve checked everything and I can’t figure out why my S@ member restricted information is being revealed to non members. It’s now costing me a lot of money and I had the theme developer correct some broken issues with the theme hoping that it may have been the problem but it wasn’t. Can someone please have a good look at this and tell me what I am doing wrong? I have already set you up with a dashboard log-in previously. Please advise if you need it again.

Thanks for the follow-up.

I notice that this is ONLY happening with listings on your site. For example, if you attempt to reach the following URL on your site, you are redirected to the Membership Options Page as expected.

http://bankreposbahamas.com/financing/

This leads me to believe that this is most likely a theme issue. Could you please try reverting to a default WordPress Theme, and see if you are then redirected correctly?

Hi Bruce,

If I revert to a default theme the post that I an hiding will not appear so I can not tell you if it is redirecting properly. All I want to do is hid the Bank information below the listing and certain pages like Financing. The problem is I have these post ID’s listed as ones to be hidden but they are not being hidden and can be seen by both logged in and non-logged in users. Would you like me o provide you with an admin log in?

Hi Bruce,

After writing you the last time I was wondering, can I hide all my listings completely? If so how would you suggest I do that. I have over 1400 of them would I need to list all of them or is there a simpler way?

Thanks,

Kurt

I see. It actually sounds to me like you’re dealing with an Archive View (aka: an Alternative View). If so, this behavior would be expected. Please watch this video tutorial where I discuss some GOTCHYAS related to this behavior. Please let me know if this helps.

If you feel the issue is NOT related to anything I discuss in the video, and you are unable to resolve this with s2Member’s Alternative View Restrictions, please submit a Dashboard login privately, along with instructions on how to reproduce the issue. We’ll run diagnostics for you. See: s2Member® » Private Contact Form
