Hello,

I have already protected the pages in my website with s2member. However, those pages that are protected also contain images as well. The images are only partially protected, in the form of the page that they are on is protected by s2member. However, if someone were to find the link to the images, then they can view the images without requiring to be logged in.

I want to protect the images as well, so that in order to view them, they require you to be logged in. I remember in amember, I was able to specify a folder to protect. It only showed the images if they were logged in.

I have attempted to protect those images with s2member by placing them in a subdirectory within the s2member-files folder. I thought this did the trick. And it does work, but only if the page has a small number of images, say 6 or less. If the page has over approximately 6 images, then the rest of them will not load. They will not show up. This occurs in Google Chrome and Firefox.

Strangely, it works fine in mobile phones and in Safari.

Any ideas why it works fine on mobile phones and in Safari, but it cannot display all the protected images on Chrome or Firefox?

Thank you

Hello Ray,

Well that’s certainly strange. You say this only happens when the images are protected correct? Nothing bad happens if they aren’t?

Could you try these troubleshooting tips, see if they help? Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips

Hello Eduan,

Yes, previously, I had the images in an unprotected folder and they all showed just fine.

Once I switched the images to the s2member-files folder to protect them (and changed the corresponding URL paths, etc), then there is a strange problem of if there are more than roughly 6 images on the page, it won’t show any more than that. If there is say 2 images on the page, they show fine. But if there are more than 6, then anything after that, it doesn’t show. It seems there is a maximum draw limit of 6 images for a page from the s2member-files folder.

You can see that it loads 6 images fast, then the page is still loading trying to also show the other images. The page is a bit slower in loading. Finally, any images after 6, they don’t show.

This only seems to happen in Chrome and Firefox. I just checked Internet Explorer as well, and it has roughly the same limitations in that it cannot show too many images. In Safari and the smartphone browsers, they all show just fine.

You think it is a problem with Chrome, Firefox and IE browsers? Or something with s2member?

Thank you.

It may be something with s2Member… But I’m not sure…

I’ll check with Jason and see what he has to say. Thanks for your patience. :)

EDIT: All right, I reported it to him, it might be a couple of days for him to answer though. ;)
