My website is http://www.barre-body.com. I had s2members working fine up until yesterday. Yesterday I did all my updates on my wordpress site. I am now using the latest version of wordpress and s2members. I have the pro version of s2members. Now, the site does not allow users (but me) to sign in. I am able to sign into my dashboard but I had created some different accounts to test out the different levels that were working before and now I can’t sign into any of those. I’ve tried changing the passwords to see if I was just simply mistyping and it still won’t let me sign in. Everything else seems to be working fine, but that. I really need help with this. It doesn’t look like any data was lost when I updated.

I should also add that when I add users now they are able to sign in as long as they are listed as an administrator, author, or contributor, but if I list them in any of the s2 categories (levels one, two, three, four) that same account cannot log in. In addition to updating my wordpress I also updated the plugin and my theme, which is Catalyst. Again, before those updates all was fine. Please advise asap. Thank you.

Thank you for reporting this important issue.

I’m unaware of any reason why s2Member would not allow Users to log in, and after some research I can’t find any reports of this issue. Are you getting a specific error message?

No, I’m not getting any sort of error message. When I try using a username and password that is set to an s2member level when I try submitting it the page at first would go to a message I think saying the username/password wasn’t correct and then I tried playing around with various things to try to figure it out and right now I have it set up so that if you enter a username/password that it doens’t recognize you are directed to the sign in page again. So basically I try to sign in and it circles me back to a blank sign in sheet since I wasn’t successful. Then if i change that same exact username/password level to one of the original wordpress ones I have no problem signing in. Again, everything was working fine until I did all of my updates yesterday. I’m more than happy to send you information to sign into my dashboard to see if you can figure out what is going wrong. We are suppose to go live with our ‘portal’ in a few days, so I’m very anxious to fix this. Also the link on the website to ‘sign in’ is
http://www.barre-body.com/portal
Thank you for your help.

Thanks for the info.

Try logging in through the default login form here: http://barre-body.com/wp-login.php

This will rule out the possibility that it’s a problem with login form you have. I notice that the action attribute of your form is http://barre-body.com/portal/, so your form must be trying to log in the User outside of the normal processes.

Silly question but if you’d like my info to see my dashboard and try it for yourself – could you tell me how to send you that info via a private msg on here? Thank you.

I’m using a plugin called theme my login for the sign in. I have the original log-in page forwarded to the /portal tag, correct. But that page is the one that was working fine up until yesterday. I’m confused on how I could sign in an admin, author, subscriber through that and not an s2member level? I can try taking off the forward on the original log-in page and see what happens quickly if you would like.

It would be simpler to just try to log in through /wp-login.php, but if you’d like to attempt that as well that’s fine.

Thank you for your help. I used this link you provided http://barre-body.com/wp-login.php to try signing in with two different accounts. The first account was set to an ‘author’ and the second was set to an ‘s2member level 3’ and both were able to sign in. Then I tried the one for the s2member level 3 on my login page http://www.barre-body.com/portal and was not successful. As I mentioned I’m using the plugin there theme my login. Im wondering now is that the problem? Does s2members have a way I can do a sign in box on the /portal page? Although it works on the /wp-login.php page I’d rather clients not sign in through that screen – I want something small I can put on an existing page. Thank you.

Through http://www.barre-body.com/wp-login.php I have successfully been able to sign in both s2members level 2 & 3 and been able to direct them to different welcome pages, which is exactly what i wanted. Thank you. As mentioned above I guess I need to find a replacement way for people to successfully sign in on my /portal page rather than wp-login.php. I’d appreciate any suggestions. Does s2members have a widget or something I can put there or a sign in code? Or do you know another plugin that is compatible? I appreciate your help.

Actually, you know what. I’ll just switch it around so that people sign in through what works. Thank you for your help. I’m very happy with the customer service from s2members!
