There are three parts to this question – apologies in advance.

First, is it possible to only allow login access and NOT registration to a site? I would like to delegate the registration for specific users, providing them with passwords and usernames and have them log in at their convenience, but I do not wish for anyone to be able to visit my site and sign up on their own.

Second, My site will be e-commerce based, but I am looking to have ONLY products for sale, no services. I only want the pricing and purchase ability to be available to members that I have signed up (specific clients). In addition to that, I would like to grant specific content / page access to the members I choose.

And third, because my site will be product-sale based, is there a shopping cart aspect of S2member?

Are these things possible with Pro / Free / Both?

Thank you for taking the time to help me out.
Sean

Is it possible for someone to address these questions by chance?

I am looking to act on this as quick as possible.

Thank you.
Sean

I’m very sorry for the delay in response.

Yes definitely. You can disable Open Registration here:

Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Open Registration

As long as Open Registration is OFF, and you do not have any Membership Level # Pro Forms/Free Registration Pro Forms there will be no way for a User to sign up for your site.

You can protect content that only Users that have been signed up by protecting the content @ s2Member Level 0, either through the traditional ways gone over in this article, or through Shortcode Conditionals.

See: Knowledge Base » A Basic Guide to Protecting Content With s2Member®

And third, because my site will be product-sale based, is there a shopping cart aspect of S2member?

No s2Member does not have a Shopping Cart. You can only sell things in bundles with Membership Levels, or you can sell one or many Custom Capabilities with these buttons:

Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Buttons -› Capability (Buy Now) Buttons

Are these things possible with Pro / Free / Both?

These things are all available in both s2Member Pro and the s2Member Framework.

Bruce,

Thank you very much for the response. One last follow-up question for you here… Is it possible to incorporate something like Jigoshop or another shopping cart application into the “members only” pages and have the checkout process work from there?

Thank you again,
Sean

Is it possible to get this last question answered? Just trying to figure out if this is the best option for me.

Thank you.

s2Member doesn’t have integration with any shopping cart applications, I’m afraid. It’s a possible we’re looking into for the next major version of s2Member, but currently it’s just not possible with the way that s2Member handles transactions.
