I am trying to decide if this plugin is right for my workflow and would like your thoughts.

I am a photographer and I frequently need to supply image proofs online for my clients to review. I currently use a subscription service (which I am not exactly thrilled with) to provide this functionality. What happens is that I upload images to a gallery, set password protection, and then email the password to my client so they can view the proofs.

I am looking to integrate this into my wordpress site, http://mboydphoto.com

Here is an example using the password protection feature directly in wordpress. http://mboydphoto.com/music/random-live-shots-2007-2010/
password=zinni

The problem is once the user logs in, they stay logged in: Even if they leave the page and come back. I need to automatically log them out once they leave the page. Additionally, I don’t think this workflow is particularly secure.

What are your thoughts on how S2 Member can be utilized to provide this service to my editors?

Hello Michael, thanks for your inquiry.

I suggest you do the following:
Each time you need to give your clients samples, you can create a post or page, which is protected by our specific post/page access restrictions, which you can find under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Restriction Options -› Specific Post/Page Access Restrictions, so when you need to give your clients access to that page/post with the samples, you simply go under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Buttons -› Specific Post/Page Access Links and generate a link for them, this link will work as far as you tell it to.

You might wanna check this video by Jason for more information:

Hope this helps. :)

Thanks for the reply. After watching some of the videos, I guess I am concerned about “suggesting” that a client needs to pay me to access their proofs. I almost always get paid by check after images are published. By using the process above, will a client have to go through a “checkout” page, etc to gain access?

Thanks for the follow-up.

No, with the method I gave you above you would give them access to the samples for free.

If you want for them to pay before accessing the samples, then you can generate a button to give them access to that specific sample page, you can generate it under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Buttons -› Specific Post/Page (Buy Now) Buttons, if you want to use pro-forms you would use Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Specific Post/Page (Buy Now) Forms

Hope this helps. :)

Again, the video I gave you above has instructions on how to do this correctly. ;)
