Hello,

Let’s say i create a post (not page) and would like to show everything except a part of the content (for example a code) that should be only visible after a certain payment. I don’t want them to get a membership level. Something like this:

Guest comes on the site and clicks on a post. He will see the complete content of that post except the part that shows a php code. In that area were the code normally is something shows up saying “Here you will see the code after you pay $ 0.50”. And a paypal button under that text. The Visitor clicks on that button, gets redirected to paypal, pays the ammount and gets redirected back to the post, but know he will see the part that was hidden before. And no paypal button shows up anymore.

Is that possible? If yes, How easy is it to create? I would like to do this later on many posts.

Cheers

You can achieve this by using conditionals. It’s pretty easy to implement.

http://www.s2member.com/kb/simple-shortcode-conditionals/

The possibilities are pretty much endless. You could for example show content on yourdomain.com/page for someone that’s not logged in. On the same page, you could show different content for someone who is logged in. I think you can even show different content for different membership levels. (Don’t quote me on that last part, but it should be possible.)

Just check the info on http://www.s2member.com/kb/simple-shortcode-conditionals/

Hope that helps

EDIT: Apologies, I just noticed you do not want to use membership levels. Not sure how to do that with conditionals. Sorry.

Thanks, i have seen those conditionals.

Could you post an example how this would look like on a post? Where would i set it? Direct into the post? What happens if the guest decides to register later and is logged in?

Thanks again

Here’s the problem. You do not want to use membership levels. To be honest, I don’t know how to use conditionals for different content on the same page if you do not have different membership levels.

I think it can be done. I’m just to experienced enough to know how.

I can create a button for the content of the whole post and place it on the “Membership” page. But then i would have 50 buttons on that membership page for every post. That would be odd and confusing. I know i can include all IDs at once, but i would like the guests to pay for every post they want to read. Not pay one ammount and then be able to read all posts.

I’m sure that this must be somehow possible, but i’m very new to this and can’t find the right way where to start this.

Hell Rolf,

Have you checked custom capabilities or s2Member conditionals yet?

You can learn about custom capabilities in this video, it should cover the basics and a couple of advanced things:
Video » s2Member (Custom Capabilities)

As to s2Member conditionals, you can read this article to learn about them:
Knowledge Base » Simple Shortcode Conditionals

Would these help you achieve what you need?
