Instead of having to define the IPN URL and return URLs within Paypal can I just use these URL parameters on my Paypal button:

notify_url
cancel_return
return

Currently I use a Paypal Standard account which is used by many different websites and each website uses these parameters above to setup the Paypal IPN intergration.

Hopefully the answer is yes… in which case do I only need then to fill in these options below and leave the rest blank?

Paypal Options -> Paypal Account Details

Thanks

s2Member does pass the correct IPN URL through notify_url normally, and setting up your PayPal IPN URL within PayPal is not absolutely necessary, as mentioned here:

Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› PayPal® IPN Integration -› More Information

Setting up the other variables shouldn’t be necessary. You can see the information that s2Member provides PayPal when you generate a PayPal Button.

Is this because there are some bugs within the s2Member-PayPal-Button shortcode?

Could I pass the notify_url as a parameter within this shortcode like this?
[s2Member-PayPal-Button notify_url=""http://domain.com/?s2member_paypal_return=1" level="1" ccaps="" desc="Test" ps="paypal" lc="" cc="USD" dg="0" ns="1" custom="domain.com" ta="0" tp="0" tt="D" ra="5" rp="1" rt="M" rr="1" rrt="" rra="1" image="default" output="button" /]

Or instead of using the shortcode can I just use the form code provided and encrypt it myself?

Will this button shortcode bug be fixed?

Thanks

I’m sorry, I don’t follow you here. s2Member’s PayPal Buttons don’t have any bugs as far as we know. s2Member only passes the notify_url, because s2Member wants to receive all notifications at the same URL.

Could I pass the notify_url as a parameter within this shortcode like this?
[s2Member-PayPal-Button notify_url=""http://domain.com/?s2member_paypal_return=1" level="1" ccaps="" desc="Test" ps="paypal" lc="" cc="USD" dg="0" ns="1" custom="domain.com" ta="0" tp="0" tt="D" ra="5" rp="1" rt="M" rr="1" rrt="" rra="1" image="default" output="button" /]

No, this won’t work. s2Member only passes the notification URL that is listed here:
Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› PayPal® IPN Integration

Sorry Bruce I think I miss understood what you said, I only asked if it had bugs because you said the following:

s2Member does pass the correct IPN URL through notify_url normally

As you said the word normally I took that as some times :-)

So I should be ok then not having to setup IPN within Paypal… and just leaving it to S2Member to pass the notify_url

Thanks

Right. Sorry I was confusing. Let us know if you have any further questions/concerns. :-)
