I’m testing out using the PayPal Pro Forms member sign up features.

The form that is generated for me includes a username but no password.

How do I get the PayPal Pro Forms to allow user registration (username and password)?

Hello Mark,

You mean to allow the user to specify his own password? If so, then you might wanna check under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Registration/Profile Fields & Options -› Allow Custom Passwords during Registration?.

Hope this helps. :)

Eduan,

I have the Allow Custom Password set to “Yes”. I did do this after first trying out ProForms. After changing to Yes, I regenerate the shortcodes for my form and replaced the old code in my page, refreshed, etc. and no joy. I was thinking if this option was on the code generator would generate what I wanted. The shortcodes are below.

[s2Member-Pro-PayPal-Form level="1" ccaps="" desc="$25 USD / Monthly ( recurring charge, for ongoing access )" ps="paypal" lc="" cc="USD" dg="0" ns="1" custom="localhost:43050" ta="0" tp="0" tt="D" ra="25" rp="1" rt="M" rr="1" rrt="" rra="2" accept="paypal,visa,mastercard,amex,discover,maestro,solo" accept_via_paypal="paypal" coupon="" accept_coupons="0" default_country_code="" captcha="0" /]

That’s strange, have you tried clearing your website’s cache? In case you’re using a caching plugin.

Eduan,

I did try that (I’m using IE). I switched to Chrome and the password field shows up. So, when I deploy I’m sure it will work fine. Locally, I’ll assume its some sort of goofy IE thing or I don’t understand how to clear everything from the cache.

Thanks for your time.

No problem Mark, glad I was able to help. :)

I suggest you don’t use IE, it really doesn’t work with many web related things, sometimes even JavaScript or PHP (yes, PHP).
