paypal recurring subscriptions question

maybe a dumb question here but…

If I offer this year a 1 year auto recurring paypal subscription for $97

but then starting in 2013 change the annual recurring subscription rate to $197

Will the people who signed up in 2012 be automatically charged the $97 recurring billing rate or the $197 recurring rate when their 1 year subscription expires ????

In other words, once someone signs up at an X$ annual recurring rate, are they ‘locked in’ to that recurring rate for lifetime ? and only new subscribers get charged and locked into the $197 rate ?

Yes they are locked in, unless you cancel the old and they start the new manually.
