I am a little confused by all the different integrations of paypal and s2members. Perhaps someone can help me with a problem. I have s2member free and a paypal business account. As the website is a charity they obviously want to keep costs to an absolute minimum. We are based in Spain but can have members from all over the world. The problem I have is that a German member has tried to set up a subscription, but says that her paypal account asks for a credit card, when she doesn’t have one. Her paypal account is tied to a bank account. I have found in paypal in the website preferences the option to accept bank transfers and giropay and have set this to yes. I am hoping this should solve the problem. But I worry that perhaps there is now something in s2member that I also need to change/set as well. As we could have members from the UK, and all over Europe, possibly even Canada and America, should I have different currencies set up in paypal? Is there anything I need to know to make sure this works for all our members without any extra cost buying pro versions of s2member and paypal. Thanks for any advice. EDIT: The member has just tried again and it seems the ‘accept bank transfer/giropay’ option didn’t fix the issues. She is being told by paypal to “register my credit card, because direct debit system would not work with this procedure yet.” |
