pramary domain setting: free and pro sites

I have several sites using the free s2Member plugin and at least one that wants to upgrade to pro. Will I have to or should I change my primary domain settings? Please explain the purpose of the primary domain setting in my account, vis a vis multiple free and pro installations. Thanks!
