Protected Page & Download File S3/Cloudfront

Hi all,

I’ve looked through the forum but cannot seem to find an answer to my query.

I’ve setup a protected page, whereby a customer pays on Paypal & is redirected to the page which is individually protected, and NOT a member page.

On this page, I have a couple of downloads & a video that I’d like to stream. These are hosted on Amazon S3 with Cloudfront.

I’ve setup everything (S3 & Cloudfront) on a clean install as instructed, setup the bucket & allowed s2member to create the CF distributions, yet the URL
http://www.mydomain.com/?s2member_file_download=example-file.zip

Doesn’t give access to the file which is in the root of my S3 bucket.

Therefore I ask:

1. Does the single page protection feature allow download/streaming file protection?
2. If so, has anyone done this before, and could they list the steps they went through?

Ok, I’ve managed to get to the bottom of this.

There were issues with my autosetup on Cloudfront, so I deleted the distributions, and recreated them, and using JWPlayer shortcode options, the streaming video is now working perfectly.

For anyone else interested…

You cannot use (or is very difficult) s2member shortcode links to the secure download area (http://www.yourdomain.com/?s2member_file_download=example-file.zip), within other plugin or theme dialog boxes or shortcode.
At least, it isn’t simple, and I found the easiest option as an inexperienced site owner, is to use the s2member JWPlayer shortcode for Video streaming, and standard inserted images with URL links for downloads.
