Happy 2013!

Does anyone have experience with using plugins that track user activity on a site? This would be for an online course hosted on an S2 membership site. It would track the member’s activity in terms of pages viewed and their activity in the course. I did see this blog post, WP SlimStat might work. http://www.thewebdesignbay.com/wordpress/wordpress-plugins-track-users-statistics

Please let me know if any users have any success with this in terms of a paid or free plugin that can be run in conjunction with S2 member. Note, I’m also running BuddyPress on the site, so I’m not sure if that has an impact.

Thank you!
Andrew

Hello Andrew,

While I’m not sure of how you could achieve this with a WordPress plugin in conjunction with s2Member. Or in other words I’m not aware of any plugin that does this.

However I’m pretty sure that you can use Google Analytics in your website and they would work pretty well.

Thanks Eduan,

I think they want to be able to track certain users who sign up for the course and see how they interact with the content.

Hi Andrew,

I can’t say 100% that SlimStat will work correctly with s2Member, but based on the source code section that I read there shouldn’t be any forsee-able problems. The best thing to do in this situation is to try it and report any issues that you might find.

Thanks Bruce,

I was at the Ventura WordPress Meetup Group last night and some people recommended these solutions:

http://www.kissmetrics.com/ and also https://www.crazyegg.com

I also saw that I can maybe use Google Analytics based on this pre-sales post: http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/using-s2membership-with-google-analytics-api/
