Register for free downloads – possible?

I’m currently building a site for a client and they would like to have the options for their customers to do the following:

1. Register with the site to access & Download different items of information – eg pdfs, trial software. They would like to have it set up so that there are different levels of registration which give different access rights to information – so for example; one level of registration would allow the customer to access some pdfs but a more in-depth registration would be necessary if the customer wants to download software (and if they completed this form then they would also be able to download other information.

2. Ability for clients to register and login to the site (not the WP dashboard) via forms on the site and to have different registration forms for each of the different levels of access.

All of the downloads would be free to the customer upon registration.

Also – as this is a corporate site they don’t want to have any PayPal buttons on it but would like text links/site buttons which enable customers to access the forms.

Is this something that the S2 plugin can accomodate & would I need to purchase the premium version?

Currently s2Member does not have the ability to restrict access to different file extensions. s2Member’s File Downloads work based on the number of downloads a User has completed. If you’d like to set up your own method for this, you can restrict access to File Downloads, and use the information provided in Advanced Download Options to skip the authentication of Users based on how many downloads they have completed (perhaps you can use Shortcode Conditionals).
