Have tried S2 member and on membership payment the paypal return redirects to a page where the text is in breach of the Paypal user agreement. Paypal requires a phrase that lets the buyer know that there payment transaction has been completed and that they will receive a confirmation email e.g. Thank you for your payment. Your transaction has been completed and a receipt for your purchase has been emailed to you. You may log into your account at paypal.com to view details of this transaction.

Nothing like this on the page and, seemingly, no way to change it!

Please advise if this can be changed – as I am sure you don’t want everyone using S2 member to have their Paypal accounts suspended!

Is this also the case for S2 Member Pro? Or does it comply with the Paypal user agreement?

many thanks
Sonia

Thanks for your inquiry. ~ We appreciate your patience :-)

Yes, with s2Member® Pro it is possible to customize your Auto-Return Thank You page in several ways; and also to use a success="" Attribute in your Shortcode, which makes it possible to design your own :-)

Regarding the existing implemention and PayPal’s ToS. I’m not aware of any issues in the existing release; so please post the exact message that you received upon completing checkout and we will investigate that for you. Your customers should be greeted with both a Thank-You message confirming the transaction, and also an email receipt; as configured here. Hi Jason

Thanks for the quick reply. By the way, I do think your membership site plugin is great.

Here is the message I get on the returns page:

[mysite.com] says…
Thank you! Your account has been approved. The next step is to Register a Username for immediate access.

This is followed by a link to the registration page.

According to TOS of Paypal – the message on the page (not confirmation email) should include:
Thank you for your payment. Your transaction has been completed and a receipt for your purchase has been emailed to you. You may log into your account at paypal.com to view details of this transaction.

Paypal give this guidance when you set up auto return under website payment preferences:

• In accordance with the User Agreement, you must provide written information on the page displayed by the Return URL that will help the buyer understand that the payment has been made and that the transaction has been completed.
• You must provide written information on the page displayed by the Return URL that explains that payment transaction details will be emailed to the buyer.
• Example: Thank you for your payment. Your transaction has been completed and a receipt for your purchase has been emailed to you. You may log into your account at http://www.paypal.com to view details of this transaction.

many thanks
Sonia
