Hello,

Thanks for taking a moment to read this. I just recently upgraded to S2Member Pro and am trying to get it integrated with the products we’re selling through Clickbank, and I’m having some difficulty. We’re planning on selling an e-book and offering access to a membership video site as the upsell.

One thing that I think will help me to form a better mental picture of the purchase flow, would be a slightly better understanding of how S2Member sends the email registration form to the customer after they opt in to the upsell. From my understanding, it seems like S2Member only processes and sends the user the registration email after that user has clicked the plugin-generated Clickbank button code on the Membership Options page.

I’m wondering if there’s a way for S2Member’s button code links to work on non-Wordpress HTML pages. I had hoped that it would be possible to modify my current upsell button code on our upsell HTML page to integrate with S2Member, such that when they agree to the Clickbank upsell the plugin will know to send them the registration email for the membership site.

Currently my ClickBank button upsell code is

<a href="http://2.cynch01.pay.clickbank.net/?cbur=a" id="accept" onclick="mustAccept(); return false;"><img src="salesassets/upsellysmall.png" /></a>

The additional code is because Clickbank requires the user check a box to acknowledge they’re buying an upsell that is a recurring billing product.

I was previously referred to this post: http://www.primothemes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=60033#p60033 which helped me to create some modified button code that I’ve provided below. I tried to implement it in place of the other button code above on the upsell page, but only ended with 404’s.

<a href="[s2Member-Pro-ClickBank-Button cbp="2" level="1" ccaps="" desc="Cynch Video Vault Membership Fee" custom="controlyourhometheater.com" tp="0" tt="D" rp="1" rt="M" rr="1" image="default" output="url" /]?cbur=a" id="accept" onclick="mustAccept(); return false;"><img src="salesassets/upsellysmall.png" /></a>

Is what I’m attempting even possible with S2Member? Or is there an easier way to accomplish this that I’m overlooking? We’re anticipating that the primary means of folks finding this product will be the ClickBank Marketplace, so it’s pretty important that we be able to process new members through the ClickBank sales flow. Thank you so much for any insight or assistance you can provide!

Hi Andrew.

[hilite code]output="anchor"[/hilite] is the way to get the URL to use outside of WordPress. It’ll include vars that s2Member needs to later know what access to give the person after checkout. Make sure you’re not logged in when you generate the URL, so it’s not tied to the account you were using. Also, you’ll need to update the IP address field where you use the URL.

About the upsells, is this ClickBank’s PitchPlus? s2Member is not integrated with it yet. Or is it a custom way to upsell the person? Could you explain some more, please? Thanks!

Hello Cristián,

Thank you for your response!

I’m sorry for my simple response, but I don’t think I fully follow part of what you mentioned. Can you elaborate on what you mean by not being logged in when you generate the URL? As-in, I should be able to somehow generate new button code in S2Member’s Options while completely signed out of my wordpress blog’s control panel? Or am I misinterpreting what you wrote? Also, how would one update the IP address field like you mentioned?

I am using Clickbank’s PitchPlus upsell process for the recurring membership site upsell, so I’m not sure if that renders my above questions entirely redundant.

If this is the case – I’d just be curious if there’s any sort of time table as to when S2Member will support PitchPlus? If it isn’t coming soon, I’ll need to request a refund for the S2Member Pro software. I bought it just the other day after being sent a possible workaround by another support rep, and if this plugin flat out won’t work with Clickbank’s PitchPlus Upsells, I’ll need to purchase another membership plugin that can.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!

The Pro description mentions that PitchPlus isn’t supported yet. http://www.s2member.com/pro/#s2-features-clickbank

I’m sorry it’s not ready yet. :/

We do plan to support it in the future, but I don’t have a date. Probably in the coming major release, in some weeks.

About generating the link, you do need to be logged in to create the shortcode and put it in the page, but then log out and go to the page as a visitor so you get the URL without it including your account info.

Thanks for the clarification, Cristián!

Edit: Though I do better understand the URL generation of the button code, it seems like I’m still going to run into trouble because of my sales flow’s dependency on Clickbank PitchPlus Upsells.

The crux of the issue is that PitchPlus requires that a couple additional parameters be passed through the upsell button code, namely a parameter that accepts the purchase and another indicating the customer acknowledges that the charge is for a recurring purchase. There’s more information on the Clickbank PitchPlus knowledgebase page here, but as you’ve already made it clear that S2Member isn’t currently supported with PitchPlus, it doesn’t sound like there is much that can be done at the moment to remedy the situation – at least not until the next major S2Member release intended to address compatibility.

From your message, it sounds like the new release isn’t terribly far off – which is great! Unfortunately, I’m trying to start a business on a tight budget with a narrow time frame until launch, and I don’t have the luxury of waiting until when the new release is available.

If possible, I would be ever so appreciative of a refund so I can take the next steps to get my business off the ground. Thank you for reading this and considering my request!

Cordially,
Andrew

I’m asking Jason about the PitchPlus support. I know he’s looked into that lately, but I don’t know if something can be done about it in the current integration. I’ll let you know what he replies.

The next major release of s2Member will support PitchPlus Upsells. However, there are currently some issues that we’re still awaiting correction on from the ClickBank side of things. Thus far, I’ve been unimpressed with the implementation that ClickBank has put forth, and we’re not ready to update the current release of s2Member in support of a feature that we’re not confident will work properly.

Thank you for your response, Jason! I’m sorry to hear about the road bumps with S2Member and Clickbank implementation – hopefully that will get addressed by Clickbank for you soon! I’ll go ahead and submit the private contact form information – thank you again for your time and expertise!
