s2membwrs causing bbpress fatal error

I installed bbpress2.1.2 prior to s2members on WordPress 3.4.1 as recommended by s2member. Each time I activate bbpress it causes a fatal error and locks me out of my WordPress dashboard. I inactivated all plugins other than s2member. I even increases my php memory. bbpress works well with other plugins without s2member. any suggestions?
