I had a question regarding the way that security levels work.

A client would like me to set up the S2Member plugin so that each level represent a completely separate package. They do not want rules to be inherited. Basically, each package is an isolated purchase.

If you were to purchase a plan at level 4, they should not receive access to 3,2,1 or 0.

Is there a way to do this using the page restriction, or do you have to use tags to achieve this?

You can check custom capabilities in order to achieve this. You can check under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Custom Capabilities for more info. And here’s a video on custom capabilities:
