I set up my site almost two months ago. Multiple times I have had to go back to my pages and change the page level restriction on them because they’re not locked the way they should be. Since I know I saved the pages, why is this happening?

Also, all the settings for my payments disappeared as many of my other settings. Basically I’ve had to go back in multiple times and set everything to the correct settings. Now I’m really worried about the security of this plugin. What good is this script if it won’t protect my content? It seems like every time I have to update WordPress or I have to update one of my other plugins, this happens.

I am VERY FRUSTRATED to the point I’m ready to scrap this site and start over with something else. I don’t have time for this, and I’m definitely losing money because I’m having to waste time going back in there to fix this. Plus, why would anyone buy from me since they can download everything for free? Is there a plugin in causing this?

Hi Jinger.

Yeah, that must be very frustrating.

Could you please make sure you have the Deactivation Safeguards enabled? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Deactivation Safeguards[/hilite]

If it’s disabled, then you’ll lose all your settings after each deactivation. When you update, the first thing WordPress does is deactivate the plugin.

I hope that helps!

I checked it. It’s set to yes. Thanks for explaining what the problem is. I set up an extra backup for that WordPress install. This way, if it happens again, I can just drop the backup in there and work from that.

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated. This plugin was so easy to set up when I first got it I was really surprised when I had trouble.

I hope you don’t have trouble anymore, but it’s good to be ready with a backup in case you do.

You can also backup your s2Member options: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Import/Export -› s2Member® Options[/hilite]

I hope it helps. And let us know if you need help again. :)

That actually helps a lot! Thank you so much for telling me that. Not sure how I missed it, because I thought I went through all the settings, but I will definitely take advantage of that.

I migrated to a new server yesterday, and so far no problem, so maybe it was just a hiccup, or maybe I forgot to save something. It happens.

Thanks again.
