Set a file download upon registration

Hi there. I was searching all over the settings of the plugin in s2m to how set a file download when a visitor register as a free member. I was looking for the option that once the visitor is registered he press the link in the email membership confirmation to then download the protected file and set this as one download per user for a limited time only. Can someone knows how to do this?

And I should place the shortcode in the email confirmation s2m settings right?

No, shortcodes don’t work in the emails, but you can use the URL to the file. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› Advanced Mod-Rewrite Linkage[/hilite]

I’m completely lost in this, is there any tutorial video on how to set up a protected file to be downloaded from new registered visitor once they receive the signup confirmation email?

If the user registered free at Level 0, then you can protect the file at Level 0 and only a logged in user will be able to download it.

Remember, though, that just registering doesn’t log in the user automatically, he still needs to login to have access to a file protected at Level 0.

He can login automatically after registration with this hack… Just wanted to add that. :)

Great that’s awesome but the point that we are targeting is that once a visitor get registered he clicks in a protected file download link in the registration confirmation email.

You can add any link you want in the confirmation email, but if it’s to a protected file then the person will need to be logged in or he’ll be sent to the Membership Options page. If you don’t protect the file then it’s fine.
