I have a multisite blog that has a child blog with a odd problem. Although every other page displays the sidebars properly on whether logged in or not, there is one particular child blog that does not properly display the sidebars on the home page unless logged in. I am running everything on the 3.4.2 version of WordPress and I’m using S2Member Pro v121023.

Here is a link for the problematic child blog: http://ftffit.com/wod/

And the parent blog: http://ftffit.com/

You can click on any post in any blog including the problem one and see the sidebars. But on the home page for the problem blog the sidebars don’t show unless logged in.

I’ve been searching for hours to find the glitch. Where should I be looking?

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi Jeff.

You could look at your Alt. View setting for Nav Menus, although you seem to be missing more than just navigation menus, and all that removed doesn’t seem to be protected content necessarily. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Restriction Options -› Alternative View Protection[/hilite]

You probably set a different template in your theme for that blog, a template that doesn’t have sidebars. Did you look into that?

The template is from a theme called Suffusion and it does have sidebars. Matter of fact, you’ll see the S2Member login all the way at the bottom of the page outside of the content wrapper below the footer. A little puzzled since there is only one page out of literally several dozen pages that is exhibiting this glitch…

Christian, the S2Member login is one of the widgets placed in the sidebar that is supposed to display in the blank black space on the right side of the main content. If you look at any other page in the blogs you will see how the content is supposed to look.

What puzzles me is why the home page looks different than the other posts or pages? Where do I find info on displaying the home page versus the specific post pages?

I see. It looks like a CSS problem if the sidebar got sent all the way to the bottom. I’d ask the theme developer about it.
