I hope this isn’t one of those questions that’s asked all the time but I can’t seem to find anything using the site search form. My question is, how do I use this plugin to display a short login prompt to users when they aren’t logged in? Here’s the scenario, I have an area on the site that’s projected with a level 1 or 2 or 0 or whatever, (I have the pro version by the way) but when I’m not signed in and I get to that page, I would expect to see a simple “give us your username and password” form with two discreet links that says “register” and “forgot password?” at the bottom. In fact, that’s how I signed up to use this very forum right here that I’m asking the question on. The flow is: 1 – I hit a wall and have to signup, so a two field form is displayed, give me your username and password Then one of two things a – If I have a username and password, great, I enter it and I see the content I’m looking for (aka, automatic redirect to where I was when I hit the wall) OR b – I don’t have a username, at which point I click “register” which then takes me to the member options page where I signup for all my stuff. It seems like this plugin defaults to the member options page which is way too much stuff for the user to see at first. Is this something easy? I found post: http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/how-to-display-login-form/ but that seems overly complicated for what seems like a normal interaction flow for site signups. Am I missing something easy here? Thanks so much! |
