I need a way of offering monthly subscriptions with an annual commitment. In other words, they can’t cancel until a year. It’s essentially a 12-step payment plan in lieu of a one time annual payment. It’d be nice if you could also make it renew at the end of the year.

I have a wordpress site and am looking for the right membership plugin and shopping cart to use. Because the information is time sensitive I can’t drip content. I just need a way to prevent subscribers from canceling until the year is up. Any ideas?

Hello Jonathan,

You are using recurring subscriptions correct? In that case it is not possible to dis-allow them to unsubscribe to your paid content.

PayPal requires for the website to provide a way for the user to unsubscribe to the PayPal subscription at any moment.

One thing you can do is just use a one-time payment option. And make it smaller payments. So instead of a year it can be 6-month access, and you just divide the total cost in 2.
