Hi guys,

I run a website that sells a social skills guide, http://www.improveyoursocialskills.com

Currently, it runs on S2member and I charge people $15 for a membership. However, I am considering switching this to “pay what you want” instead.

I tested out creating a page with a “pay what you want button” according to this post http://www.primothemes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=16566&p=59040#p59040

The core functionality worked — I was able to create a button that let you pay what you want.

However, for some reason the button was pushed way down on the page, which is terrible from a design perspective.

Could someone take a look at it and explain what I can do to delete all of this random blank space? You can see what I’m talking about at http://www.improveyoursocialskills.com/button-test

I figured it out. For reference if anyone has this same error: the issue is that when you paste the button code into WordPress, it assumes the different lines are line breaks. To solve it, put everything on one line.

So for instance it was

Line 1 of code
Line 2 of code
Line 3 of code

And then I just removed all of the different spaces so it became

Line 1 of codeLine 2 of codeLine 3 of Code

Thanks for reporting this important issue.

~ I apologize for the delayed response.

Glad to hear you got this sorted out. Yes, that is correct. Raw HTML code in the WordPress Editor can be problematic. I recommend this plugin if you’re going to cut/paste raw HTML into WordPress.

Please see: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/raw-html/

Please let us know if problems persist :-)

That’s an excellent plugin :) If I need to make a new button in the future, it will save me from having to take out all of the spaces.

Is there any chance you could weigh in on my other post regarding minimum payments for pay what you want? http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/minimum-payment-for-pay-what-you-want/. I realize that you guys don’t do custom work, so if I need to hire a developer to make that functionality then so be it. But if it would be easy to create a minimum payment for the pay what you want button, that would be super helpful.

Also, is there any chance of creating official support for pay what you want in a future release of S2member?

You’re VERY welcome!

I’ve addressed your other ticket, so we can continue our conversation there on that topic.
