Please help! I’m so frustrated! My website is http://www.barre-body.com. I have created an instructors portal on the website. I made it so that the ‘welcome login page’ is different for each user. The problem is this ONLY works when I do not have a membership options page selected. The problem is that if I do not have a membership options page selected then the security features do not work (i.e. if I have a pg labeled for a level 2 user then without the membership option page everyone can view this level 2 page). Anyway, I don’t want a membership option page, but it is forcing me to have one, so then I select one and here is the frustrating part – when you sign in when I have a membership options page selected then AFTER signing it it brings you to that INSTEAD of the welcome page.

What do I do??? Do I fix this in the variables section? Please help

Second question – I want a link so that people can go back to their individual welcome page – how do I do that? Again, I am referring to them returning to their individual welcome page if they have clicked away from it.

Make sure you’re not using the same page for the Login Welcome and Membership Options. Same for the Home page. Those three should be different. Using the same for two of those is known to cause trouble.

About the Login Welcome for each user, how did you configure it, could you show me the URL with the replacement codes? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Login Welcome Page[/hilite]

Not sure if it’ll help, but it’s still good that you know about it: Video » s2Member (Login Welcome Page Conflicts?)

Instead of different Login Welcome pages for each user, have you considered having just one and customize the content with conditionals? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -> Conditionals[/hilite]

Second question – I want a link so that people can go back to their individual welcome page – how do I do that? Again, I am referring to them returning to their individual welcome page if they have clicked away from it.

That’d depend on what the URL of those is. How did you format it?

The code I am using for the Login Welcome Page is
http://www.barre-body.com/%%current_user_login%%-portal

No – I don’t want a general welcome page because when each user signs into their account they will receive on their own individual page results for something.

Can you answer my second question about how can I get a link for something like ‘My Homepage’ where it will take the user to their individual page (i.e. from the link above saying my username is junek then my page is http://www.barre-body.com/junek-portal and if my username is ericak then my homepage is http://www.barre-body.com/ericak-portal)

Right now I don’t have the welcome login page and the membership page as the same. At the moment I don’t have any membership page selected because I tried a million different options and it doesn’t matter – if ANY page is selected for a membership option page then the user code does not work for the welcome login page.

I am confused anyway because the membership option page should be for people that don’t yet have access. If they have a username and password then the options page is irrelevant so it should take them to their welcome page.

I did spend time looking over the conditional option you suggested and I don’t think it will work because I need different content on each user’s page despite their member level and I didn’t see any suggested conditionals for that. So, I really need to address this problem the way I originally was hoping to where I was able to make the ‘welcome login page’ individualized per user (using this code http://www.barre-body.com/%%current_user_login%%-portal) and essentially not use the membership options page because on my site people cannot purchase a membership – they must be given access to the site. Again, the problem is if ANY membership option page is selected (which is required) then when someone SIGNS in they are brought to that INSTEAD of the welcome login page – which makes no sense.

I need help with this issue ASAP. Thank you.

Thanks for the extra info.

Okay, so you want to make a portal. Have you watched this video? Video » s2Member (Client Portals?)

About not having a Membership Options Page, that’s not possible. s2Member requires one for the access restrictions to work. You could still protect content with conditionals, though.

If the user is being sent to the Membership Options page once then login, you may be having a login session problem. See: Knowledge Base » Logged In, But Am I?

You can send your site’s info if you want, I’ll take a look at your installation to see if I notice anything out of place. Let me know once you send it, please. s2Member® » Private Contact Form

How do I send you privately the info for my site? I don’t know if you are understanding what I’m saying. Conditionals will not do what I want. I KNOW I have to have a membership options page BUT the problem is that the membership options page is showing up when someone logs in rather than the welcome page. Basically, what I’m doing is I have two membership levels and I am using those membership levels for the info in the sidebar. Other than that the welcome page is the important part because EACH client will have their own page with individualized content, which is why I need someone who signs in to get directed to the welcome page. When I have a membership option page selected and it directs a person to that then there is no way for them to get to their welcome page.

Also, I still need my second question addressed. Each person will have their own welcome page, so say they click on another page I want them to be able to click a link saying ‘my homepage’ which will bring them back to their individual page – how can I do that? I really need this all sorted soon, so if you will let me know how to send you the site info I’ll get you that asap.

Can I get some additional help on this issue please?! I’m very frustrated at this point that this issue hasn’t been resolved now for several days and we are now heading into a weekend. I really need this up and running and it seems like it should be a simple problem since I’m asking for help getting the plugin to work the way it is supposed to where the welcome page greets people that sign in. I’m sorry for being rude, I’m just very upset at having to wait so long for responses and then not getting enough information in the response.

I addressed these in my previous reply. Did you read/watch the resources I linked to? Maybe the links were not very clear, they’re at the end of the paragraphs and look like this: this is a link

Also, I still need my second question addressed. Each person will have their own welcome page, so say they click on another page I want them to be able to click a link saying ‘my homepage’ which will bring them back to their individual page – how can I do that?

You’d have a link where the username is populated with a variable. You’d do this with PHP (see the WordPress codex) or a shortcode that gives you the username (see [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› PHP/API Constants[/hilite]).

What you’re trying to do, a portal, is not something that s2Member was designed to do out of the box, but could be achieved with a bit of customization as mentioned in the video I linked to. Video » s2Member (Client Portals?)

From your question about the link to the user’s page, and forgive me if I’m wrong, I’m guessing you may not be familiar with coding.

I suggest that you get help from a developer that’ll be able to implement this to your specifications. You could try a freelancers board like jobs.wordpress.net, elance.com or odesk.com.
