After viewing your demonstration videos after deciding to purchase the Pro plugin I decided to follow the authors advice and install the recommended plugin:

Version: Installing Plugin: WP Show IDs ( simple, yet elegant ) 110709

http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/wp-show-ids.110709.zip

WP: 3.5

Install via FTP upload works up until:

Downloading install package from http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/wp-show-ids.110709.zip…

Unpacking the package…

Installing the plugin…

Successfully installed the plugin WP Show IDs ( simple, yet elegant ) 110709.

Activate Plugin | Return to Plugin Installer

Click “Active Plugin” results in Chrome reporting:

The website encountered an error while retrieving http://192.168.100.9/wp/wp-admin/plugins.php?action=activate&plugin=wp-show-ids%2Fwp-show-ids.php&_wpnonce=f4f4ebc53f. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.

Although this is a test environment and I have a backup. I realize the theme is involved, but I did not think such a little plugin would fail so miserable a bring down my entire WP site.

Not cool at all.

Hello Aaron,

This error is created by your theme as you pointed out. However, WP Show IDs is not at fault here, as it works perfectly with hundreds of well coded themes and plugins, and it works flawlessly on a default installation of WordPress.

Also notice that the error is caused because your theme has some problems with it’s font manager. ;)

So, I think the easiest solution for this would be to contact the theme developer and ask him why this is happening, see if he can fix it. If he can’t then you could also hire a freelancer to fix this issue for you, for a fee. Check websites like jobs.wordpress.net or elance.com in order to do that.

Hope this helps. :)
