I can code it, that’s not the problem, I just prefer to not have to reinvent the wheel. Thanks for the link to the widgets, can you recommend to someone that they put that in the Quick Start for a future revision? That’s kind of a key thing right there.

So, in other words, there is no way for people to go to the registration page, without me actually hand coding a link to that page?

Would it be possible for you to point me to the place in the documentation where it discusses this please? I cannot find anything about it and I would like to read all the ins and outs of this.

Yes, that much is clear, but when you click on that link, the log in screen says “Registration is not allowed on this site”, or something to that effect, because I do not allow free registration.

Besides, isn’t the plugin supposed to direct people to the Membership Options page so they pay first?

The only way to get rid of that is to allow free registration through the plugin, but I do not want to have free users, only paid users to access specific restricted content.

As good as the plugin documentation is in so many areas, this area is lacking terribly. No where does it tell you how to direct people to the membership options page. The only way people can get there is to try to go somewhere that is restricted. This is why I have created a text link in the sidebar. That’s the only way I could think of to do it, but I want to know how the plugin is set up to do it, so I can do it properly.

I know I read somewhere that you can use a standard wordpress login widget with this. Right now I’m using one called Sidebar Login and then I’ve added a text widget below that for registration, and directing people towards the Membership Options page.
The free registration is deactivated in S2Member, because membership is only required to access certain restricted content. People do not have to log in at all to view most of the content.
If I log out, then try to log in with the widget, it does log me in, so will it do this for non-admin people as well, once they’ve registered through the membership options page?
I’m thinking now that maybe I have enough work arounds that this should function properly.

Question though…..if the free version doesn’t offer any type of log in, how the heck are people supposed to log in? This makes no sense to me.

Okay, I figured out the download issue!
