Hey there guys, i’m trying to formulate a workflow that adds Custom Capabilities to user account upon successful payment through a different payment routine. We are using event espresso to sell online classes/events . I’d like to give access to content and or a link to users after they successfully purchased our event through our registration process. Is there a way to tap into the api and add CCAP coming from a third party payment system? I need to create a bridge between s2member and Event Espresso. So I need to know if there’s a way to tap into the s2member API to facilitate this?

Hello,

s2Member’s Remote Operations API (Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Remote Operations API) only supports creating new users. However, if you’re just trying to add Custom Capabilities to existing users, you can use the built-in WordPress functions to write some code that will achieve that. Please see this thread for more information on adding Custom Capabilities via PHP.

Useful thread, thanks Raam.. I was wondering are there options to set a capability to expire after a certain time with the method described in the above thread or any method provided by s2member?

ccaps don’t have EOT times, right now the auto EOT behavior is a general thing that removes all access (level and ccaps). [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Automatic EOT Behavior[/hilite]

I know Cassel has used ccaps extensively in her installation and had her developer create some plugins to improve their uses further. You may want to ask her about this.
