Admin Created users unable to login

Hi,

The first few days I was able to create a new member in the admin area (my client wanted to give free access to some important bloggers in her field – these were at level 4). OK No problem. However, now I have tried to create 2 separate s2 and s3 levels for myself, user area tells me user is created, but when I go to /wp-login page it says either wrong user name or wrong password.

I suspect there are similar problems with the first 2 paid customers as well as they were unable to unitially download their books and view videos. Video trouble appears to be solved by having changed embed codes to ‘Vimeo’s Proprietary Embed coding’. The downloads I am handling for the moment with a download plug-in and appears to be working; however, I’d like to switch DL management to S2 when my client upgrades to Pro (which they must do to manage their clickbank affiliate program…).

In any case, Can you Please help me discover the trouble with adding new members from Admin area? My client is freaking out and I’ve tried everything from disabling plug-ins, to re-installing S2 and no dice… Site in question in http://faceitpromakeup.com

Hello Kel,

Have you tried changing the themes? Could you try changing to the default WordPress theme (TwentyEleven) and see if it works?

Could you try without the child theme?

Also, have you tried deactivating every plugin except s2Member? It might also be the cause of your problem.

I had a similar problem where I could not log in on any account from my own computer but others could log in fine. I tried several different computers in my house, had all the IP restriction information cleared, reset the password. BBpress had been disabled and used the reset/roles capabilities. Still I could not log in under either my admin account or a test account I had created under an S2 membership level. I cleared my own cache, cookies etc and even reboot my computer. Still wasn’t able to access the site. The log-in kept giving me an error as if the UserID didn’t exist or the password was wrong. Finally in an act of desperation I reboot my router which gave me a new IP address. For whatever reason, that fixed the issue. However, now I have another person with WordPress admin access and they can’t log in either. As far as I can tell, there is some kind of bug in that area. Upon reading other forum posts with similar log-in issues, I wonder if it has something to do with the BBpress integration. We found that bbpress wasn’t going to work with our forums so we disabled it and that appears to be when the problems started.
