Here’s literally what I have to do for my company, I just need to know if s2 is the right product for me.
(I’ll walk through the user experience)

1. User accesses the site, snoops around and decides “this is the site for me”. They click on the “Sign Up” page and register to become a “Partner” for free.

2. After becoming a partner, the user must upload a whole heap of information about their band. This information would also include albums that they would want distributed to different retailers (what the company actually does).

3. After filling out the forms with all the band information, the user is done.

4. The user will want to come back to the site to check their “stats”. This would require a custom “dashboard” for each user.

EDIT: Something like Amazon or Facebook where you 1-Register for the site and 2-Everytime you login you have access to your own personal content. Like “Recent Orders” on Amazon or “Notifications” on Facebook.

Is this all possible?

Hi Therman,

s2Member doesn’t have any file uploading functionality — that’s handled by the WordPress Media Upload feature. There’s also no “stats” feature like the one you described, nor a “Dashboard” — s2Member users have no access to the WordPress Dashboard: they are restricted to the viewing of content. There also are no Order History or list of Notifications features.

s2Member does have a Custom Registration/Profile Fields feature (Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Registration/Profile Fields) where you can create Custom Profile Fields and then have those show up on the registration form.

If you’re unsure if s2Member is right for you, I recommend downloading the free version of the plugin and trying it out.
