I am trying to assign author level to a level of membership, and can’t seem to do it without adding a plug-in. Is there another way?

Hi Laura,

The s2Member roles are designed to work only with the ‘Subscriber’ WordPress role. If you want to change the roles/capabilities of the s2Member roles, you’ll need to use a WordPress Role Editor plugin and make those changes manually.

However, there are several security concerns that you’ll want to address if you do this. Please see this thread on the old forum system for more information.
