Are those the same thing with different “spelling”? or completely different things?
I see that s2M integrates with bbPress, but in the topic tags BuddyPress is very often used.
I am asking because now, BuddyPress integrates with my theme, so it would be great it if integrated ALSO with s2M. But i am just sure if we are talking about the same thing.

They are different.

This is BuddyPress: http://buddypress.org/
This is bbPress: http://bbpress.org/

s2Member integrates with both. s2member.com uses bbPress, heavily (very heavily) modified to integrate with s2Member and other stuff.
