i am new to this but i was wondering if i could set up custom subscription lengths? our group’s membership dues run on a fiscal year, July 1st to June 30th. we have a few payment levels for individuals and families. For example an individual membership incorporates a $10 initiation fee then each successive fiscal year is only $20 so the first payment would be $30 but if a person joins after January 1st they only pay for 1/2 the year so the initial payment would only be $20. it looks like all the forms and buttons are set to be a month or year after the registration date.

i recognize that this may be beyond the scope but i am hoping it is a simple button code that may have come up before. if i didn’t explain this clearly please let me know and i appreciate any help or direction available. thank you

Hi Candace,

This is certainly possible, but it would require some custom programming that does the logic work for your business model. The s2Member shortcodes that generate the buttons/forms all have attributes that define things like the rate, term, amount, etc. These attributes can be dynamically configured with a bit of PHP code so that when the button loads, it’s automatically configured correctly based on the current date.

To offset the recurring charge so that it starts on a particular date, you’d need to use the Initial/Trial period (see the ta, tt, and tp attributes in Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Shortcode Attributes (Explained)). You can also dynamically configure the amount charged depending on the current date. Also see dynamic shortcode attributes.

This will require custom programming work and if you’re not comfortable with PHP, we recommend posting your job on jobs.wordpress.net.
