Hi,

I am currently using the s2member login widget.

After I update my s2member profile successfully, I am redirected to s2member Login/create profile page. I am not sure why I go to the create profile page because I am still logged in at the time.

Normally, I would expect to go back to existing page I was on. I must have changed or messed up a parameter somewhere.

How do I correct this?

Thanks,

Rich

Hmmm, you should be able to define exactly where you go after every action within the parameters of the login widget. It gives you options to put URLs in for where a person goes when they log in, log out, etc.

If this isn’t it, try working with the General Options tab, with where users are redirected after login (though I’m pretty sure the widget overrides typical parameters, so I’d check with that)

Hi Jordan,

That’s what I was initially thinking but no luck.

I don’t see a ‘Redirection After ‘Edit My Profile’. I press the ‘Edit My Profile’ link, update my profile and then get redirected to the login entry/create profile screen. I am still logged in at this point. This is after Change/Update Profile event, not login or logout event.

I have looked in the General Options page and it’s not clear to me where to put a redirection in after a profile has been updated.

Thanks,

Rich

Hi Richard.

I’m not sure I understand. If you use the Edit My Profile link in the s2Member Pro Login Widget, you get the profile edit popup and after saing you get taken where exactly? In my installation it takes me to the home page.

If you don’t get the popup, could you tell me what value you have for the Edit Profile field in the widget’s settings?

Thanks.

Hi Cristian,

Yes, I get the profile edit popup. That appears to work just fine. I get the popup, make my changes, then press the button at the bottom fo the popup called “Save All Changes”. I press that and it redirects me to the Login/Create Profile page in my website page (It’s not a popup or in the widget area). I manually press Home to clear the screen.

Under the Edit Profile (Enter URL , or use %%automatic%%) field,
I have %%automatic%%.

MY redirections after logout and login go to the ‘Home Page’.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Rick.

Redirection after login takes you to the homepage? Does that match with what you have in the Login Welcome Page setting? Maybe you have something in your theme causing a redirection, which may be affecting the redirection after saving the profile changes? Please watch this video and see if it helps: Video » s2Member (Login Welcome Page Conflicts?)

You say that after saving the profile changes you get taken to the login page, does it mean you got logged out? Then please read this a make sure that it’s not the case in your site: Knowledge Base » Logged in but am considered logged out

I hope that helps.

Chistian,

I am still not sure what is going on. I watched the video and looked at the documentation. I must have changed some parameter somewhere.

After I have logged in, I press to “Edit my Profile” link. After I press update, it redirects me the the login page. I am still logged in??

Please give it a try yourself. My site is Ringertown.com

I am about to add a bunch of users and this will confuse them, a lot.

I do use Events-Manager plugin on this site. Would that cause any issues?

I don’t know if that particular plugin could cause it, but I know that plugins can cause conflicts. You should try, as a test, to deactivate other plugins one by one, and try the problem again to see if you still get it. That way, if it’s a plugin causing it, you can tell which one is.

Richard,

This is your javascript file created by s2member, Notice that your login welcome page is set to

'http://ringertown.com/login'

which does not exist

S2MEMBER_LOGIN_WELCOME_PAGE_ID = 28,
S2MEMBER_CURRENT_USER_PROFILE_MODIFICATION_PAGE_URL = 'http://ringertown.com/?s2member_profile=1'
,S2MEMBER_MEMBERSHIP_OPTIONS_PAGE_URL = 'http://ringertown.com/tournaments-list-all',
S2MEMBER_LOGIN_WELCOME_PAGE_URL = 'http://ringertown.com/login',
S2MEMBER_LOGOUT_PAGE_URL = 'http://ringertown.com/wp-login.php?action=logout&_wpnonce=cd81a49109',
S2MEMBER_LOGIN_PAGE_URL = 'http://ringertown.com/wp-login.php',

If your settings under s2Member® General Options > Login Welcome Page do not match those above then you have a javascript conflict. As Cristián said if you deactivate other plugins one by one and try to find which one is causing the problem, it may well be your theme that is conflicting so try using the default theme too.
