Hi!

I am offering a free trial period for my members, after that, an amount will be charged to them based on their paypal subscription.

My question is this. I have placed a subscription cancellation button on my website. If in case a paid member cancel his subscription, and then upgraded again for the subscription stated above (with trial period), will that member will still be eligible for the free trial?

Thank you,

Nick

Hello Nick,

I’m not entirely sure, but I believe yes. I don’t think s2Member provides any way of keeping track of this.

Could you give me a rundown of what levels you offer and what you do to give them to the user? I might be able to offer a work-around. :)

Thank you Eduan for your response. I’m a first time s2member user, excuse me if sometimes I won’t make any sense.

I’m using 3 levels, including lvl#0 (free). For the paid subscriptions, I allow access to the support forum (powered by bbpress) for lvl#1, excluding one area in the forum, which is only accessible by lvl#2.

Lvl#0 clients are registered only once they’ve purchased something from my online store, using woocommerce. Then, they are provided a link in their “My Account” page to subscribe for premium support (the page where the link is pointing at is the page where s2member buttons are placed). And since they have bought from my store, I am giving them several months of free premium support.

What workarounds you have in mind?

I was gonna say, why don’t you use a fourth level? So what level 0 does will become level 1, level 1 will become level 2, level 2 will become level 3, and level 3 will become level 4. Basically move everything up a level.

That way, you can do it so that the user’s get demoted to level 0, and you just gotta show a different button to level 0, which doesn’t offer the trial.

Am I making myself clear? Or did I make it too confusing?
