Gaps between custom fields

In my registration form, there are big gaps between the field name and the text box. For the default fields this is not the case.

Is there a way to get rid of the additional space?

Hello Chris,

These gaps are caused by your theme’s CSS. So you will need to check with your theme in order to modify it’s CSS so that it doesn’t add this extra space.

Why would the CSS add a gap in between the custom fields and not the default fields?

It’s very probable that it’s because the custom fields are not “protected” by WordPress. To the other fields I believe it’s actually WordPress the one that adds those styles.

In any case, this is known to be caused by your theme, one way to test that is to temporarily change to the default WordPress theme (TwentyTwelve) and see if the problem disappears.
