Hello.

I used the new support system to get an answer, as these forums are no longer maintained.

The answer I got was:

You’d sell buy-now instead of a subscription. That’ll set an end date for the access in his account. He won’t be charged automatically, he’ll have to purchase the new year himself.

There aren’t notifications for coming expirations, though. There was a hack someone posted a while back to do that, you could try it or modify it to suit your needs: http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/setting-up-eot-notifications/

The link looks to do what I need, although I haven’t had a chance to try it yet.

This is also something I would like to know.

I want users to be sent an email when the year has almost ended, reminding them to log into the website and renew for the next year.

I don’t want the payment to be taken automatically.

The website is for a physical sports club so cannot rely on the member seeing a ‘renew now’ message on the website.

Looks great thanks, I’ll give it a go.

I just need to come up with some maths to convert the number of days into complete/part months so that the pro-rata rate can be applied.

I.e. Every month or part month they pay membership for costs the annual membership rate / 12.

I’ve just found the shortcode definitions :)

Are you suggesting I use the trial period for the pro-rate part of the membership? Will this show up as a trial for the customer?

Would I have to set the trial period in days so that the annual fee can start on the 1st May? If I did it using months am I right in thinking that the annual fee would be charged from the day they signed up on? (In May).

Do you have some sample PHP code that could calculate this for me?

Do you have a link to some documentation describing the different variables used in the PayPal forms?

E.g. ta, tp, rp etc.

Thanks for you help!

OK thanks.

Does the Auto EOT trigger if they have a valid payment subscription?

Or just if they do not pay?

Are there any shopping carts you’d recommend?

OK thanks.

What’s the best way to do a ‘buy it now’ for an item? (i.e. not for access to a webpage/membership)

Marvellous.

Thanks Jason.

As I’ve already said twice, the checkbox fields are set to required.

I’ve tried using the default theme and de-activating all plugins (apart from s2member) and I still get the same problem.

One thing I have noticed, the text under the “Field Required” setting says this:

If yes, only Users/Members will be "required" to enter this field

Does this mean that if the person is new to the website, they won’t be required to check the field?

I need new people to have to check the field before being allowed to sign up.

Thanks, Chris

Christián: Yes I’m sure the required option is selected for the checkboxes.

Jason: Please see Christián’s response – the javascript is working fine.

Why would the CSS add a gap in between the custom fields and not the default fields?

Posted: Friday Jan 11th, 2013 at 10:09 am #37007

Basic scenario is this:

We’re a sports club charity who wants to start taking paid on-line membership. (s2member will work fine for this)

Another thing that we would like to do is run training courses…

r1) These courses (events) would require on-line registration and payment.
r2) They are open to both members and non-members.
r3) Members would be charged a lower rate.
r4) There would only be a certain number of spaces available for each course.

q1) Would s2member be able to support these requirements?
q2) Are there other plugins that would work with s2member to support these requirements?
q3) Could I edit the s2member plugin to achieve this (with some help/sample code provided by you)

Thanks for your time.

OK so it’s possible to create two buttons of different prices, one for members and one for non-members.

Is there an events facility? For example if I have an event with 10 spaces, can a member/non-member sign up and pay? Providing certain details such as address etc?

Can it be limited so that only 10 people can sign up? What if one person wanted to sign up for 2 spaces?

Thanks, Chris

Also is it possible to purchase a single site license, then upgrade to an unlimited license at a later date?

What would be the cost of this?

Thanks, Chris

Thanks Cristián.

Is there a way I can test this without purchasing s2Member Pro first?
