Gift subscription & manual editing of user

Hi

We want to support gift subscriptions for our users. So a user can pay for a subscription for someone else. We would then manually add in the user who is getting the gift subscription and set his access accordingly (depending on what was purchased). I assume this is possible? I looked at the fields in the user’s profile and I saw they were editable (e.g. the Role field). I am not 100% sure though about how the Paid Suscription Id & Gateway fields, etc. would work.

Finally, if you have a better suggestion than what I mention above for handling gift subscriptions, please let me know!

Hi Colin,

You can certainly manually add users (see Can I create new Membership accounts manually with s2Member?). If the new user didn’t pay with a payment gateway, you can leave the Paid Subscr. ID and gateway fields empty.

There is not currently any feature for creating/selling gift subscriptions within s2Member, so you’d need to handle that part yourself.
