Hi,
I’m using Pro forms with Paypal Pro, and I notice when people elect to pay with Paypal and are redirected to Paypal’s site, they come to a “Review your Information” page where they’re given the order summary. There’s an “Agree and Continue” button here, and it says,

“You’re almost done. You will confirm your payment on (my business name).”

By clicking that button though, they’re actually paying. There’s no more confirming to do, which is misleading to the customer. I like having it all setup this way- it’s just I’d like to edit out the “You’re almost done…” line on the Paypal page and change the “Agree and Continue” text on the button to say “Pay Now.”

And I actually found a forum where a couple people said that if you add “useraction=commit” to the redirect URL that it takes care of this. How do I do this though- alter the redirect URL for the Paypal button in my pro forms?

Thanks,
John

Hello John,

Currently I don’t think you could add this with s2member, atleast not without modifying the source code. However a support rep can correct me if I’m wrong.

However when I read that text it does make sense, sorta, by clicking that button I’m confirming this action, that’s what I understand.

If you want you can look into this from PayPal’s side, ask them how ou could change that from PayPal’s side, although don’t expect much from them.

Thanks for the response, Eduan.

I agree that it sorta makes sense, but I’d like it to be crystal clear to the customer. I was surprised how it worked the first time I tested it, and I don’t want my customers to be. The “Review your Information” page is actually the “Finish and Pay” page, so I’d like the language to reflect that.

I’m not a web developer but am trying to learn. Could you help me figure out what source code I need to alter? Maybe how to add that “useraction=commit” to the redirect URL?

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

This is something PayPal’s in control of and it’s something that I’ve noticed before. s2Member really doesn’t have any control over this and I’m unaware of any way to change this via PayPal. I do know that custom checkout templates with PayPal do not have control over this.

As Eduan mentioned the best way to find out if there’s a way to change this is to contact PayPal. The likely answer is that it’s not possible.
