Hi,
I have not been able to find the exact answer for my question – we’re not using the paypal pro (to change the template), it’s not a T&C, and I’ve figured out how to put a text area withIN the questions (all the posts I *have* found…).

I need to put plain ole text instructions between the logo and the username field – how can I do that? If I’ve missed posts/instructions for this, sorry about that and please point me in the right direction. :)
Thank you!
Mary B.

Hi Mary.

Well, there isn’t a setting to customize that with s2Member. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Login Registration Design[/hilite]

What you could do is add the text to the logo image, though, below the logo. That may be the simplest, but it’ll show for all pages wp-login.php serves, which includes registration, but also login and lost password.

I guess you’ll need to edit wp-login.php itself, or find hooks there that you can use in a hack.

Or find a plugin that lets you add that? But be careful in case it conflicts with s2Member.

I hope that helps. :)

Thank you so much for the quick response!

1. If I change wp-login, do you have any idea off the top of your head if I need to do something to keep it from being overwritten when wordpress is updated (ie, put it in themes folder). If not, no problem, I thought I’d ask. :)

2. This would be a great feature to add – it’s no problem that username/email/f&l name are built in (ie, not part of what I can change in the custom part), but to be able to optionally add a text area below logo/above form would be powerful. IE: we’re a non-profit organization – not related to anything technology – so some of our registrants may not be familiar with everything on the form and we could alleviate their concerns or prevent mistakes this way.

Also – we’re pretty set with the basics – we just recently got s2m pro so we could use paypal pro, but need to wait due to the cost of the SSL. Would you advise us to look into any of the pro features to better our basic form for now? (Since we just got Pro, haven’t gotten to tour around.)

Hello,

Please see Customizing the Login Form on the WordPress Codex.

Also, with s2Member Pro you can start using the Pro-Forms (they do not require PayPal Pro; see the note in Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Quick Start Guide).
