Hi,

I have an S2 pro membership and I recently encountered this problem :

I have a website now assuming it is http://www.website.com and it has all the levels worked out, restricted pages and all.
I have created a separate installation of wordpress on http://www.website.com/new-installation . This has been created to act as my landing page for selling my products, as I don’t want it to adopt the layout of my current website (www.website.com)

With all the levels and restricted pages on http://www.website.com , I created a clickbank button shortcode to place on http://www.website.com/new-installation but it doesn’t show up there (presumably because it is on a fresh installation). How do I configure this so that my clickbank button shortcode appears as a button on my http://www.website.com/new-installation? (last resort would be multisite I suspect, as I’m very unfamiliar on how to do that)

Would greatly appreciate any help I can get here. Fantastically happy with the performance of S2member so far!

Hi Desmond,

You are correct that the reason the button isn’t working is because you’re trying to use the shortcode on a WordPress installation that’s different from the one where s2Member is installed. There is no way to “share” an s2Member installation across multiple WordPress installs.

So, if you want to use your ClickBank buttons on a different WordPress site, you will need to generate the URL version of the buttons and use those instead (i.e., you cannot use the shortcode). To generate a URL version of the shortcode, simply change the output=”” shortcode attribute to output=”url” and then display the shortcode on a temporary WordPress page (the page must be on the same site as the s2Member installation).

When the shortcode is parsed, you will see it turn into a long URL. You can then copy that URL and use it anywhere you want (on another WordPress site, in an email, etc.).

Hi,

Thanks it works “a bit”! That’s because now when I click the “Thank You Page” URL, it shows the error:

ERROR: Unable to verify POST vars

I’ve done the url change already, ensured Secret Key is correct and the IPN v2.1 is selected. The only thing that I suspect might be wrong is that my product is pending approval. Is that why?

Otherwise, I can’t think of any other reasons why it is showing this error, I’m so close to getting this right!

Looking forward to a reply soon, thank you very much!

Edit : I have uploaded s2member-server-check and passed all test, however, it is still showing the error.

when I click the “Thank You Page” URL, it shows the error:

ERROR: Unable to verify POST vars

When sent there from ClickBank, CB sends the POST vars expected, but they are missing when you load the page directly in your browser.

I created a clickbank button shortcode to place on http://www.website.com/new-installation but it doesn’t show up there (presumably because it is on a fresh installation).

You need to create a little hack in your installation with the ClickBank integration, so you can link to that and have it forward to the URL generated by s2Member using the shortcode. Please read this post: http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/using-clickbank-and-paypal/#post-11438

I hope that helps. :)

So what is the solution to this? I have done everything I could with the configurations, how should I go about this?

In my other post I point you to the hack required to sell the product from other sites that aren’t the one where s2Member is.

Or are you having trouble even completing a transaction when selling it from the same site?

If so, could you make sure you have logging enabled and do a test transaction with the test card CB gives you? Then please show me the log entries from all the log files in your s2member-logs folder (even if the file has “paypal” in the name). [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› ClickBank® Options -› Account Details -› Logging[/hilite]

Do you get the signup confirmation email from s2Member? Are you able to register an account after purchasing access, and does it get the correct level you paid for? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› ClickBank® Options -› Signup Confirmation Email[/hilite]

Thanks.

My main problem is that for my thank you page link given to me in clickbank options from s2member : http://www.everestfortune.com/?s2member_pro_clickbank_return=1
clicking on this leads me to the ERROR : Unable to verify POST vars

I just need to get past this before my product can be approved. Please help.

If you click that link directly you’ll get that error, but that link of for ClickBank to send the customer after checkout, and it’ll include the POST vars needed, so it’s not a problem. Try a test purchase and you’ll be taken there without the POST error.
