I think this support request was missed from earlier since I posted replies to my own request. I think the mods thought someone had responded. That’s why I’m re-posting. My original post is below. I’ve also added a link to my previous post, where you can find the logs I posted (http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/user-registration-is-currently-not-allowed-2/)

Here’s my original support request:

Hello, (Raam, you’ve worked on a similar problem. Perhaps you can help?)

I’ve created a membership site for a client (amistrategies.com). While building the site on a subdomain (ami.susankledzik.com), we had no problems with user payments and registrations. However, after migrating the site to the actual domain (amistrategies.com), I cannot properly complete a test user signup.

My setup: WpEngine (host), S2 Member framework installed, S2 Member Pro also installed via FTP.

The PayPal buttons are working, and I can pay + get the registration invitation from S2 Member. The payment goes through successfully, and everything seems to happen smoothy on PayPal’s end (I adjusted the various settings necessary after transferring to a new domain). However, the link that comes in the welcome email (and the link I go to after paying which allows you to register) ends up redirecting to this page:

http://amistrategies.com/wp-login.php?registration=disabled

That’s where I get the “User registration is currently not allowed.” message.

I can force it to allow me to register as a free user by allowing open registration, but the registration options are of course wrong, and this site is not meant to have free members. My most recent test resulted in the following link being emailed to me (I’ve given the link that the tiny URL redirected to: http://amistrategies.com/?s2member_register=fnIyOmZaN3pGMFFlOVAzSW5lUkMyRmtVZnJtOW9ISXdQWGxhOmFlM2E2OTBlZDdjYmY5MDA1MDEzNDRiZjUyYTdkYzhlfHs2Qb9BvH0dhMuEgjC1f2KjwVFQGXQQ5_P3w1WDOXtv8dIGp3ZQ-HOrmQm1E-jlKS5GT_y_tvolz6Z8T8V2r126X52Ieu3cApHr80MS9ycC1E7njXcojKDRgH2vSclqt-RPGR9CsZJ1q8DtBvZv9zsFDiCyF5pG3QUwzesxLqbKSriFnlSpKbcRxea7d3u1Oibv5SPvdoSDoZbgJTPBrrY

That get’s redirected to the “registration=disabled” link above (unless I’m actually signed in as an admin, which allows me to see a simplified version of the registration form, but not the correct fields for membership option in question: http://amistrategies.com/wp-login.php?action=register)

I’ve uploaded and ran the server test tool, and the only error I got was in relation to the WordPress memory limit being 32M instead of 64, as suggested. I don’t think that’s my problem.

Another user posted about a similar problem at: http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/logs-for-signup-process/. However, the thread stopped before the solution was posted. Also closed for comments. Raam, you were helping the user with his problem. Perhaps you can way in.

I thought maybe the problem came because I transferred the site after configuring S2 Member, but reinstalling S2 member doesn’t help. However, S2 Member automatically remembers my old configuration, so I’m not sure reinstalling is changing anything.

Any help on this? I’m about to post my logs for the last failed registration.

Hi Dean,

If you moved to a new domain (or sub-domain), the first thing I would suspect is that there’s a configuration field somewhere that still references the old domain, or there’s a button/form that was generated on the old domain.

Please double-check all of your s2Memebr configuration and make sure the old domain address is not mentioned anywhere. Also, any buttons/forms you generated on the old domain need to be regenerated on the new domain, otherwise they will reference the wrong domain. That would most likely explain why your registration links are not working.
