I’m trying to keep a field that can tell when the user last changed their renewal date, for example, they do a buy now membership for x amount of time, that field would be changed to today. Or, they buy a recurring subscription, it would still be changed to today. What’s the most effective way of doing this? I can’t go based on auto EOT time since that doesn’t get set for recurring subscriptions. Would a combination of using the subscription ID/EOT time be the best approach, in which case, which of the hooks mentioned here http://www.s2member.com/codex/stable/s2member/paypal/package-summary/
would be best used to see when the subscription ID is being changed?

Thanks!

Hi Mike,

I’m not sure how the Subscription ID would help with what you’re trying to achieve here. However, your approach sounds correct. Depending on the types of transactions you offer, you’d need to hook into a successful transaction to update the field attached to the user.

It’s hard to tell you exactly what hook to use, as the hook would depend on the type of button/form you’re using. Here’s a full list of s2Member PayPal Hooks. By looking at the associated code (which the hook documentation links to), you should be able to determine which hook needs to be used.

Maybe the Payment Notification would be useful? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Notifications -› Payment Notifications[/hilite]
