I was unable to reproduce this myself. Have you tried increasing your WP memory limit? See: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP How many other plugins are you running?

32 + the must use plugin to have people login on register.

32 + the must use plugin to have people login on register. With that many active plugins, you are most likely exceeding your memory limit. I would suggest a new limit of at least 128MB; and I would suggest that you contact your hosting company and ask them to do a quick review of your site and be sure nothing else should get updated along with this setting.

That fixed it. My host, Idologic, responded immediately :) i will also review my plugins and see if any could be removed. We are using all of them.
