I’ve been noticing this & it seems to be more of a trend for users to assume that when they see a login form they tend to enter in their email & password to try logging in maybe even at time don’t even read the labels of the text fields. I’m not sure if web apps & other email providers are nourishing this behavior but it’s not good for my s2member install. My users login patterns are only about twice a month, once during the end of the month and another mid month. Enough time to forget a username. Is there a simple way for me to get around as this is a huge obstacle for my users. I’m losing customers because of the inherent twice a month login behavior as they are trying several times to login thinking they have the wrong password & even after resetting their passwords they still can’t get in due to the wrong username they are using. Then they just cancel their accounts. I’ve seen wordpress plugins which allow for this functionaality such as: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-email-login/ But since these plugins are free I’m afraid of lack of support in the future. |
