I must have this wrong.

I thought the member integration would mean that if members sign in on mailchimp they would sync as s2members.

That is not happening.

I am having to enter member details in user MANUALLY.

I seem to have the listserv set up correctly but I must be doing something wrong.

Any help appreciated.

Hey Bob!

Unfortunately you have that the wrong way round.

When a member signs up to your site through S2 Member you can have S2Member add them to your Mailchimp list but NOT the other way around I’m afraid!

Sorry!

OK then.

So it is best that the sign-on sheet is NOT the MailChimp sign on form.

Thank you for clearing that up

Hey Bob,

You would usually get users to sign up to your WordPress site in the regular way.

Upon signup, either paid through a PayPal S2 member integration, or a free membership, a member would then be sent the opt in form for your Mailchimp list automatically.

If you are brand new to S2 Member it’s definitely worth watching Jason’s video tutorials here:

Actually, if you integrate s2Member with MailChimp, the user won’t need a separate MailChimp form. The registration will opt him into the MailChimp list you set for the level of his new account. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / List Servers -› MailChimp®[/hilite]

Then he’ll just receive the MailChimp subscription confirmation email.

Thanks Cristian. I have one small problem. My log in welcome page is the S2 suggestion. It processes through MailChimp nicely and all links and emails work perfectly. The subscriber is listed as a user ON MAILCHIMP.

However – the USER does not appear on the WORDPRESS dashboard as a user of my site and is unable to log in to the set to get benefits.

Is there a set step that I have missed?
Is there a time delay?

My site is http://www.reliefteaching.com

Thanks for your help Ross.

I have always had my users sign up to mail chimp.

However I have just changed it to the log in welcome page as suggested.

Now they are signed up on mailchimp but a not registered users on my site.

I apologize for my incompetence and appreciate your help.

Hi Bob,

Had a look at your site and you aren’t using WordPress to handle your sign ups.

You are currently using the MailChimp subscribe form, so nothing will get processed through WP.

Forget the MC form, it isn’t needed.

As long as you set up the list integration from within S2 member, your new sign ups through WordPress will be send list opt in emails to join your list.

Go to s2Member -› General Options -› Open Registration and make sure you are allowing open registration.

Users wil then go to:
http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php?action=register

To register.

They will get added to WP and also receive your mail list email.

Hope that helps!

Ross :)

Thanks for your help Ross.

With your valuable assistance and support, I think the problem is rectified.

I have to go through my site and try and find all the old mailchimp links.

I am not sure if it will solve your problem but there is a plugin called s2M+MC that will do the integration from MC registration into s2M. You can read more about it here:
http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/bidirectional-communication-s2m-mailchimp/

And you can get it here:
http://krumch.com/2012/08/11/kc-bidirectional-integration-of-s2member-with-mailchimp/?ap_id=Cassel

I had it developped for my site and it works wonders. It not only allows you to use the MC form anywhere (once the plugin is installed in the WP site), either another site or even in an email. So you can get optins from many sources outside your site.

I downloaded s2M_Mc plugin but can’t sync it with Mailchimp. (http://www.reliefteaching.com)

Any help appreciated.

Also when they log on I want subscribers to be at level 1 automatically. Is that possible?

Thanks

Bob

What do you mean by it does not sync? Can you describe what it does or does not do that you are expecting it to do?

Sorry, In Dashboard + Setting + KC_s@M-Mc it identifies two syn errors.

List ID b17627XXXX have 10 members, what is not exists in site’s DB.
and
7 site’s members are not present in the list ID b17627XXXX

When I click the Check for Synchronization button the message comes up

Site members and MailChimp® lists are not synchronized.

I am pleased to say that once a member registers on Mailchimp they are listed as s2Members on the site.

However, once they are registered I would like them to be level 1 subscribers (Bronze) level. I have this listed on the settings.

Is there a way to do this?

Bob, the members who are not in sync might be admins or other members like that. I have some on my site too.

For the starting level, i would suggest you contact Krum, the programmer. It might just be an additional setting to change, or a tweak to his code for you. I am not a programmer, just a user of that plugin but i know Krum is very helpful.

Didn’t think of that problem for the sync. Will investigate further and will contact Krum for advice. Thank you
