I couldn’t find anything in the forums. I hope this is not redundant.

After several attempts to configure a Custom registration field, Drop-down select menu, the option configuration file field seems to be parsed incorrectly when saved.

I entered the following data:

US – Hawaii|US – Hawaii
US – Anchorage, Alaska|US – Anchorage, Alaska
US – Pacific|US – Pacific
US – Mountain|US – Mountain
US – Central|US – Central
US – Eastern|US – Eastern|default
Buenos Aires|Buenos Aires
Greenland|Greenland
Dakar, Senegal|Dakar, Senegal
London, England|London, England
Paris, France|Paris, France
Athens, Greece|Athens, Greece
Perth, Australia|Perth, Australia
Adelaide, Australia|Adelaide, Australia
Melbourne, Australia|Melbourne, Australia
Auckland, New Zealand|Auckland, New Zealand

After “Update this field” and “Save all changes”, the registration form displays only this, incorrect, entry in the resulting drop down list box:

US – HawaiinUS – Anchorage, Alaska

when I re-edit the field, this is the text in the option configuration file field:

US – Hawaii|US – HawaiinUS – Anchorage, Alaska|US – Anchorage, AlaskanUS – Pacifi |US – PacificnUS – Mountain|US – MountainnUS – Central|US – CentralnUS – Eastern|US – Eastern|defaultnBuenos Aires|Buenos AiresnGreenland|GreenlandnDakar, Senegal|Dakar, SenegalnLondon, England|London, EnglandnParis, France|Paris, FrancenAthens, Greece|Athens, GreecenPerth, Australia|Perth, AustralianAdelaide, Australia|Adelaide, AustralianMelbourne, Australia|Melbourne, AustralianAuckland, New Zealand|Auckland, New Zealand

It appears the CR/LF from the original creation/edit is converted to the letter “n” instead of what I would expect is supposed to be “\n” for what most of us know as a new line.

I intended to send screen shots but couldn’t paste them here.

Documentation doesn’t indicate whether commas are acceptable in option|value pairs. But the example includes parens and periods so it seems my syntax is correct. I have also attempted to use a single word on either side of the pipe without success.
What am I doing wrong, or, did I find a bug?

Hi Scott,

I’m not sure what’s happening on your end, but I copied and pasted your data from above into a Custom Registration Field on my test site and sure enough it showed up as expected on the registration form:

Have you tried clearing your browser cache? I’d also suggest trying this from another web browser to see if that’s causing the problem.
