Hi There,

we recently set up your membership system on our site and had to manually add our membership database (about 1000 people).

Some of the members want to renew their membership via paypal but we can’t seem to find a way to allow this to happen via the membership section.

we need to get this working properly asap and I fear we may have spent $300 on a membership system that doesnt work the way it should.

Please advise!

Hi Sheila.

Some of the members want to renew their membership via paypal but we can’t seem to find a way to allow this to happen via the membership section.

Do these members already have a subscription with you running in their PayPal account? When you say renew, you mean they had cancelled that subscription? Or was their access a one-time payment (PayPal’s “buy now”) instead of recurring payments?

Hi Christian.

We literally JUST set up the membership system and imported our database, which means being able to pay online is a brand new function to the existing members (all of which previously paid yearly by cheque and were manually entered into an excel file)

so what i’m asking is, now that we have them online and in s2member, how to they renew their subscription (again, previously paid for by cheque) with paypal?

I would suggest you simply create a new paypal button where they will subscribe. You can call it renew because they already paid before but it would just be a straightforward new subscription as far as s2Member is concerned.

Check the Paypal button section of your s2Member for the various buttons/subscriptions available to you.
