Hello.

Our members were able to sign up but yesterday someone pointed out a bug that caused them to redirect to the payment page after going to paypal: http://members.wholelifestylenutrition.com/sign-up/

The only thing I saw that was missing since we knew it was working was the PDT settings which I updated but it’s still not working. I double checked our API settings as well.

Free users can register no problem.

Everything seems to look ok in my logs: http://cloud.tunas.co/0B150N0L2m0m, http://cloud.tunas.co/0B150N0L2m0m, http://cloud.tunas.co/2k2X0t131K3W

Here is the short code we are using:

[s2Member-Pro-PayPal-Form level="1" ccaps="" desc="Meal Plan Subscription Payment Details: $12 / Monthly ( recurring charge, for ongoing access )" ps="paypal" lc="" cc="USD" dg="0" ns="1" custom="members.wholelifestylenutrition.com" ta="0" tp="0" tt="D" ra="12" rp="1" rt="M" rr="1" rrt="" rra="2" accept="paypal" accept_via_paypal="paypal" coupon="" accept_coupons="0" default_country_code="" captcha="0" success="http://members.wholelifestylenutrition.com/thank-you/monthly-member/"/]

We got it to work if we turned off the object cache at our host. We are testing to see if this is the root cause.

Sorry, I just got to your post.

I’m glad you found the problem. Yes, object and database caching are known to cause random problems and should not be enabled.

We are hosted with WP Engine and we can’t just turn of their caching. Are there any reported issues with WP Engine at this time?

There is a reported issue with the login widget, yes. I’ll tell them about your caching issue, in case it helps them. http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/urgent-logins-broken/#post-52103

I have an open ticket with WP engine as well but now we are getting reports that even with the object cache off, folks are having issues.

We have the ticket under my technology partner, Tuna Traffic: https://wpengine.zendesk.com/requests/114076

We’ve been working with WP Engine on this.

We have the issue narrowed down to their object caching and things are working with it off now.

Going forward, we’d like to offer to help you troubleshoot by creating a new sandbox instance and create a sandbox paypal account to duplicate the production environment.

Are you guys able then to jump in and help us troubleshoot and resolve these issues for other WP Engine customers?

here is a video of the issue happening: http://cloud.tunas.co/1P0p2H0H2r1X

Thanks for your patience.

Yes, it definitely looks like something Object Caching is doing. The problem with this is that it’s actually altering the data that s2Member’s receiving, so we can’t really tell that they’re a problem. s2Member just assumes that the data it’s receiving is correct.

The only way I’m seeing to remedy this situation is to turn the Object Caching on. Does WP Engine have a PHP function or an INI setting you can set up to do this during a specific process? If there is we might be able to help show you a way to use that in a way that it keeps the caching processes from affecting s2Member.
