I was watching the S2 video tutorial on Paypal Sandbox testing and going fine until the 10 minute mark when I ran into a brick wall.

The video seemed to miss a whole section on how to login to your Sandbox Testing account and how to set up PDT’s.

Anyway, managed to figure it out eventually, but none of it was straightforward.

Unfortunately it looks like you can’t do Sandbox testing on a local host as Paypal can’t verify the return URL.

Is that correct, that you can’t use Paypal sandbox on a local setup?

Thanks

Here’s a thought:

Do I need the PDT actually turned on if I’m only testing locally?

Hello Mark,

I’m afraid I’m not sure, I can recommend, though, to not use PayPal sandbox at all, it usually has problems that are not worth fixing since they don’t exist in a live transaction. You can do your tests using 00.01 cents transactions.

Also, not sure if this would help, but make sure to follow the instructions under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Localhost WAMP/MAMP Developers.

Hope this helps. :)
